Vac Pac Produce is a family-owned and operated business founded over 40 years ago on Fort Street in the Detroit Produce Terminal and is currently based in Detroit’s historic Eastern Market. We provide popular produce, exotic produce, and specialty items while exemplifying our core values – safety, quality, and customer service.
Food safety is our number one priority, so we have developed and implemented a number of procedures to maintain the highest standards of food safety. We recently renovated our facility and refined our processes, receiving the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) certification. HACCP is a management system to improve food safety by implementing preventative controls to prevent, eliminate, or reduce significant hazards.
Although the produce cold chain has evolved with technology and processes over the past few decades, time is still perishability’s greatest foe. To ensure freshness, our buyers procure produce daily from local vendors. Further, we have always practiced an additional inspection of the most susceptible produce to assure delivery of superior quality.

Our customer relationships range from just a few months to more than 30 years, but our commitment and attention to detail is consistent across all customers.
